Snippet of audio from the second KB encounter on June 6th, 2024, by expedition D12. The primary interviewer, D12-3, unfortunately had an internal microphone malfunction that rendered his half of the conversation unintelligible, but was able to later confirm what he said for captioning.
This is also the first instance of a "secondary voice phenomena" (SVP) picked up in some recordings with KB. All members of D12 confirmed that they were present during this recording and did not say, nor hear, the phrase: "how do you think they found this place".
KB: No, it's ok, I know what a recorder is.
D12-3: You do?
KB: Yeah, I mean, I've learned a lot of things by looking out through the tears.
D12-3: Which tears?
KB: Ones that are too small to go through, but I can still see out of them just fine.
D12-3: Have you gone through the larger ones?
KB: A few...times...but I stopped using the ones that you locked down, I was...too nervous to.
Unconfirmed Speaker (SVP): How do you think they found this place?
D12-3: [inaudible] So there's more gateways out there?
KB: Yeah, um...there's a lot of things, out here.
Miscellaneous entries from the times KB was given a handheld recorder to note her thoughts between meetings with expeditions.
KB:
I'm gonna be honest, it feels kinda weird talking into this thing. There's not...really a lot of conversation, that happens, in Somewhere. Um...the other outcasts don't really want to talk to me and like, I mean you’ve probably seen it for yourself that a lot of the entities in here don't really talk either.
I mean don’t get me wrong, some of them are really nice, you know, um, despite that! I have, a uh, what do you, what do you call them. A fl- a float dog? Here? With me currently, but um, they’re not — they're not really big on conversation either. I don’t know. It's weird to talk, I guess. It's-It's nice! But it's…it’s weird.
Um -- you know that sound can travel through the tears? I've listened to a lot of other conversations, other people talking — it's how I figured it out myself, probably how the others who can talk here figured it out too, I'd assume. I um, I think I need practice, still? I haven't quite figured out, um...cadence, yet. It still feels weird.
And I think I've said the word "weird" a lot too, is that weird? Is it weird to say words, like a lot, in a row -- I'm not making sense, I'm sorr— I'm gonna stop.

(To note: An unidentified bird is heard in the background. While bird-like lifeforms via reduction entities have been seen in Somewhere, their calls are much more distorted and discordant. Occasionally, "normal" bird song can be heard coming from speakers located in city and industrial biomes (but strangely, not forests).
Also unknown if “the others who can talk here figured it out too” refers to other outcasts or other entities we’ve yet to discover.)

The memories I have from the void are...fuzzy, at best. They're not clear memories, they’re more like...feelings. I remember feeling at home. At peace. I remember feeling warm and happy and…and loved. And then suddenly, it was all gone. I felt my connection to the Void break, I felt like it hated me, like it had thrown me away, and then I woke up here. I woke up Somewhere Out There cold and confused and…alone.
Do you know how terrifying that was? To have every single comfort you ever had ripped away from you in a second? But I had to adapt. I figured out the...weird rules, here. I figured out how to get around, I figured out how to hold my own against the things here that wanted to hurt me and trust me, they will never hurt me again.
SVP: They will never hurt me again.
And when I found the others that had been thrown away here...all of them just…wanted to go back. They all think I'm even more defective than they are — they think I'm crazy for wanting to move forward, to move on to something new as hard as that is, but I…I don't blame them for feeling that way.
Because I know, deep down — if the Void invited me back with open arms? I would run to them immediately, embrace them without hesitation. They wouldn't even need to apologize for what they did to me, and I -hate- that I'm not stronger than that.
SVP: You’re not stronger than that.

(To note: significant memory loss has occurred in KB and theoretically all outcasts when they crossed through the barrier from the void into the Outvoid. Her words must be taken with a grain of salt as an unreliable source, yet she’s still the best source we have when it comes to understanding the Void and SOT.
Has a tumultuous lingering relationship with the Void, to say the least.)
The last recorder she was given was found left on a crate in Facility 4's Outvoid post yesterday, on July 16th, 2026. Except for two sections, all audio is corrupted and unsalvageable, even with several washes through a denoiser. The surviving audio is archived below.

I don’t know what’s going on.
I don't — I don't feel right.
I feel like there's this — this something. In my head. A thousand voices trying to tell me something, but I cant tell what, it's just…
This noise...this rumbling and I...
I feel like I'm racing. I'm — I'm feeling too much, too many things at once, and I can't...
I don't want to feel this way. It won’t stop. I don’t know how to make it stop.
I don’t want this. I don’t want this. I’m sorry, please, I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry—

(To note: glitching artifacts near the end signal that KB is about to enter a meltdown. Inciting factor beyond feeling unwell is unknown.)
KB:
I don't want to be here anymore.
There's nothing left here.
I mean, there's everything here!
But there's nothing left for me.
I cant remember, but I must’ve done something terrible or been too worthless to make the thing that made me hate me.
SVP: Hate me.
The other rejects don’t want me, the Void doesn't want me, but maybe some of you would?
Maybe I can hope against hope that I will find any purpose, any sort of belonging
with those of yours who are like me.
Share these noises in my head and give them a place Somewhere Out There.
Give to them what the Void (never gave to/took away from) me.
SVP: Gave to you.

(To note: I've already passed this recording up the chain of command on KB. She might actually be planning to make first contact with humanity outside of the OEA. The storm we’ve been watching could possibly be connected to that, and if it follows her through whatever tear she pops out of, it'll be devastating. We need to find her and lock her down before she can cause any damage, purposefully or not.)
